Parents everywhere are currently trying to readjust to old routines (especially those who are transitioning back to in-person learning after spending so much time online last year).

Many families will agree that finding good school options for the children was a big part of the decision-making process when buying a house. After all, we all want our children to have the best opportunities and education we can offer them.

But researching school rankings and figuring out boundaries for school districts can be tricky.

For those looking to move to Almonte and the surrounding area, we wanted to simplify the process by providing information on the school boards that serve the Leeds, Grenville, and Lanark area:

Public: Upper Canada District School Board

The UCDSB offers public education from kindergarten to grade 12 in Leeds Grenville. Registration in this board is open to all children.

Catholic: Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario

The CDSBEO offers public education from kindergarten to grade 12. You can register your children with this board, with the following restrictions:

• From kindergarten to grade 8, children must be baptized in the Catholic faith or must have one parent who is Catholic.
• From grade 9 to grade 12, all children can enroll regardless of religion.

French: Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est

The CECCE offers public education in French for children from kindergarten to grade 12. Registration in this board is subject to some restrictions.

There are two Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est schools in Leeds Grenville. The first is in Brockville and the second is in Merrickville.
